Clean Up Australia Day 2020

Did you know March 1st, 2020 is the 30th anniversary of Clean Up Australia Day? 30 years ago, an average Australian bloke had a simple idea to make a difference in his backyard. Clean Up Australia Day is now the nations largest community based environmental event.

As dedicated solar energy providers, we would like to bring light to how air pollution is damaging our environment and how you can benefit by using solar energy.

Some quick statistics about air pollution

Environmental Justice Australia (EJA) reports the following facts about air pollution in Australia:

  • “More than 3000 Australians die from exposure to air pollution each year.”

  • “Coal-fired power stations are a big contributor to air pollution in Australia and the biggest sources of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulfur dioxide (SO2) in the country.”
  • “Communities are also at risk from coal ash – the toxic by-product of coal-fired power, that is dumped into huge wastewater ponds that can leach and contaminate local land and waterways.”

Switching to solar energy is a win-win situation

The truth about solar energy is that it’s a win-win solution for both the customer and environment. As a customer, the biggest benefit you’ll experience is reduced costs on your energy bills. See how our customer George achieved $50 credit on his bill.

In addition to that, you’ll be helping the environment by reducing your dependence on the grid and sustainably sourcing your energy. This can have a significant impact on the air quality in your area.

If more people can switch to renewable energy sources, there would be less need to burn fossil fuels and therefore, we could stop or greatly reduce the effects of air pollution.
