Updates to the Solar Victoria Portal

Solar Victoria has simplified their identity verification process to make it quicker for you to get a rebate, whilst also improving application security.

When the update goes live, you will only need to enter details from any two documents to prove your identity making the process much easier.

What does the update include?

With the new update, you will no longer need to scan and upload photos of your identity documents or complete facial recognition. Solar Victoria is making identity verification easier by allowing you to simply enter the details from any two of the following accepted documents:

  • Driver’s licence
  • Medicare card
  • Passport (Australian or foreign with valid visa)
  • Australia Birth certificate; OR
  • ImmiCard

The update also introduces a one-time passcode feature which consists of a unique code sent to your phone as a text message. The verification will happen at the start of your application. This ensures your application is secure and prevents third parties from submitting documentation on your behalf.

What does this mean for you?

If you have started but not yet completed your Solar Victoria application, you won’t be able to access the portal whilst the update is taking place. The portal will re-open on Monday 2nd March, allowing customers to continue their application with the updated features.

If you haven’t started your Solar Victoria rebate application yet, you can do so by visiting Solar Victoria. The updated application process will make it much easier for new customers to apply for a solar rebate.
