Victoria’s Solar Homes Program has expanded!

,

The Victorian Government’s Solar Homes Program has expanded to include up to 60,000 more homes across Victoria. This will allow eligible households the opportunity to secure a discount of up to $4,174 on a solar battery or a discount of up to $1,850 on a solar (PV) system.

More than 100,000 homes have now installed solar (PV) systems through the Government’s Solar Homes Program and now even more Victorian households will be able to benefit. There are now an additional 42,000 solar (PV) rebates of up to $1,850 available to Victorian households helping to make solar even more accessible.

In addition, Solar Battery Rebates are now available to Victorians all across the state, providing an additional 17,500 rebates of up to $4,174. The solar battery rebate was originally only offered to just 24 postcodes around Victoria, however, has now expanded to be available state-wide making solar energy more affordable and accessible than ever.

Most Victorians have spent more time at home this year – and more on power bills – than they ever have. That’s why we’re helping those struggling to pay their bills and making homes across the state more energy efficient.”

“This pandemic has been hard enough without worrying about whether you can pay the power bill. Not only will we help cover that cost – we’ll help Victorians make their homes more efficient and fight climate change.”

Although the Solar Homes Program has expanded the number of households able to access the rebates, the maximum rebate of $4,174 for batteries and $1,850 for solar (PV) has steadily reduced over time and will likely continue to decrease in the future.
